Dear Colleagues,

It is my great honor and pleasure to invite you to the 15th CROATIAN CONGRESS ON ATHEROSCLEROSIS WITH INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION, which will take place this year in Split, from November 7 to 9, 2025, at the Marriott Hotel.

The Congress will present the current state of knowledge on atherosclerosis and its consequences in Croatia, as well as the latest global advancements in this field. Unfortunately, atherosclerosis remains the leading cause of death in our country—nearly every second citizen of Croatia dies as a result of its consequences, including coronary heart disease, acute myocardial infarction, and cerebrovascular diseases.

The scientific program will include invited lectures by distinguished national and international experts who will cover key topics related to atherosclerosis, including its epidemiology, pathogenesis, risk factors, prevention, diagnostics, and therapeutic strategies. In addition to plenary sessions, participants' scientific and professional achievements will be presented in the form of posters, and abstracts of all presentations will be published on the official Congress website.

As a highly interdisciplinary challenge, atherosclerosis requires the engagement of various medical specialties. Therefore, the Congress will bring together cardiologists, neurologists, diabetologists, endocrinologists, cardiac surgeons, radiologists, nuclear medicine specialists, epidemiologists, pathologists, medical biochemists, and primary care physicians.

The Scientific Committee will award valuable prizes for the best posters presented by young researchers (under the age of 35).

​

I am confident that every participant will find topics of particular interest and that the exchange of knowledge and experience will contribute to both personal and professional development, as well as to the continued efforts of the Croatian Atherosclerosis Society in combating this major public health concern.
